Custom Foot Orthotics

Supporting Comfort, Movement & Performance

Personalised Support For The Way You Move

No two people walk, move or live in exactly the same way.

Your feet, posture, activity levels, footwear and lifestyle are entirely unique to you. We believe your orthotics should be too.

At Callen Olive, our Custom Foot Orthotics are individually prescribed and made-to-measure following a comprehensive Biomechanics Assessment. Designed specifically for your body and the demands you place upon it, they are created to improve movement efficiency, reduce excessive strain and support long-term comfort, rehabilitation and performance.

Whether your goal is to reduce pain, recover from injury, stay active or improve sporting performance, custom orthotics can play an important role in helping you move with comfort and confidence.

What Are Custom Foot Orthotics?

Custom Foot Orthotics are prescription medical devices designed specifically for you.

Unlike generic insoles or over-the-counter arch supports, our orthotics are individually prescribed following a detailed assessment of:

  • Your foot posture and structure

  • The way your feet function

  • Your gait and biomechanics

  • Your body weight

  • Your occupation and lifestyle

  • Your footwear requirements

  • Your sporting activities

  • Your treatment goals

Every orthotic prescription is unique.

By understanding how your body moves and the demands you place upon it, we can create a bespoke device designed specifically around your individual needs and lifestyle.

More Than Just An Insole

Many people assume orthotics are simply arch supports.

In reality, custom orthotics are highly specialised prescription devices designed to influence how forces travel through your feet and lower limbs.

By improving foot function and reducing excessive loading, orthotics may help:

  • Reduce pain and discomfort

  • Increase stability and support

  • Reduce fatigue

  • Optimise movement efficiency

  • Support rehabilitation

  • Reduce injury risk

  • Enhance sporting performance

  • Improve comfort during walking and running

For many patients, orthotics become an important part of a long-term strategy for maintaining mobility and preventing recurrent symptoms.

What Difference Can Orthotics Make?

Many people initially seek orthotics because of pain.

Over time, they often tell us something much more important has changed.

They are able to:

  • Walk further with greater comfort

  • Return to exercise and sport

  • Keep up with their children and grandchildren

  • Enjoy holidays again

  • Play golf more comfortably

  • Feel more confident on their feet

  • Stay active and independent

At Callen Olive, our goal is not simply to prescribe an orthotic.

It is to help you move with greater comfort, confidence and ease.

The Callen Olive Approach

At Callen Olive, we never prescribe orthotics based on foot shape alone.

Every prescription begins with understanding the root cause of your symptoms.

Through detailed biomechanics assessment and gait analysis, we evaluate:

  • Foot posture

  • Lower limb alignment

  • Joint mobility

  • Muscle strength

  • Walking mechanics

  • Running mechanics where appropriate

  • Lifestyle demands

  • Occupational requirements

  • Sporting activities

This information allows us to prescribe a truly bespoke orthotic designed specifically for you.

Whether you spend long days standing at work, enjoy recreational walking, compete in endurance events or play competitive sport, your orthotics are tailored to support the way you move and the activities that matter most to you.

Conditions That May Benefit From Orthotics

Custom Foot Orthotics are commonly prescribed for:

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Heel Pain

  • Achilles Tendinopathy

  • Flat Feet

  • Hypermobility

  • Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD)

  • Shin Splints

  • Metatarsalgia

  • Morton's Neuroma

  • Knee Pain

  • Ankle Pain

  • Sports Injuries

  • Running Injuries

  • Recurrent Ankle Sprains

They may also benefit people experiencing fatigue, instability, poor balance or recurring lower limb injuries.

Supporting Growing Feet

Children's feet are constantly developing and changing.

In some situations, custom orthotics may form part of a personalised treatment plan designed to support comfort, movement and participation in everyday activities and sport.

Our clinicians will always explain the reasoning behind any recommendation and discuss whether orthotic intervention is appropriate for your child.

Orthotics, Rehabilitation & Recovery

Orthotics are often used as part of a wider rehabilitation programme.

When combined with targeted treatment and rehabilitation, they can help improve recovery, reduce recurrence and support long-term outcomes.

Your treatment plan may also include:

  • Rehabilitation exercises

  • Strengthening programmes

  • Footwear advice

  • Running technique advice

  • Activity modification

  • Shockwave Therapy

  • Podiatric Acupuncture

By addressing the underlying mechanical factors contributing to pain and injury, orthotics can help create the foundation for successful recovery.

Orthotics & Performance Enhancement

Orthotics are not just for people in pain.

Many active individuals and athletes choose custom orthotics to optimise movement efficiency, improve comfort and reduce excessive loading during training and competition.

Whether your goal is to complete a marathon, improve your golf game, stay active with your family or perform at your best in competitive sport, improved foot function can positively influence performance, confidence and enjoyment of activity.

Our Custom Orthotic Process

Step One – Understanding How You Move

Every orthotic journey begins with a comprehensive Biomechanics Assessment.

Using advanced gait analysis technology, including OptoGait, we assess how your body moves during walking and running, allowing us to evaluate movement patterns, loading forces, stability and function with greater accuracy.

Step Two – Creating Your Prescription

Once we have completed your assessment, we take a precise 3D scan of your feet.

Your orthotics are then individually designed and manufactured in the UK using your assessment findings, foot shape, biomechanics, footwear requirements, lifestyle and activity levels.

Step Three – Fitting & Integration

Once your orthotics are ready, we carry out a dedicated fitting appointment.

Your devices are fitted, assessed and adjusted where necessary to ensure optimal comfort, function and performance.

Step Four – Reviewing Your Progress

Following fitting, we review your progress and assess your response to treatment.

This allows us to monitor symptom improvement and make any adjustments if required.

Will I Feel My Orthotics Working?

Many people expect orthotics to feel dramatically different immediately.

In reality, custom orthotics are often designed to make subtle changes to the way forces move through your feet and lower limbs.

Some people notice improvements quickly. For others, changes occur more gradually as the body adapts.

The goal is not simply to feel the orthotics working.

The goal is to help you move more comfortably and efficiently over time.

Are Orthotics A Cure?

Custom Foot Orthotics are not a cure for every condition.

However, when prescribed appropriately, they can form an important part of a personalised treatment plan designed to:

  • Reduce excessive strain

  • Improve movement efficiency

  • Support rehabilitation

  • Reduce recurrence of symptoms

  • Help you remain active and comfortable

At Callen Olive, orthotics are rarely used in isolation.

They are often combined with rehabilitation, footwear advice and other treatments to help achieve the best possible outcomes.

Investment In Long-Term Foot Health

Custom Foot Orthotics are not simply insoles.

They are bespoke prescription medical devices designed specifically for your body, lifestyle and the activities that matter most to you.

For many people, orthotics become an important part of maintaining comfort, supporting rehabilitation and remaining active and independent for years to come.

Our goal is not simply to provide an orthotic.

Our goal is to help you move comfortably, confidently and enjoy the activities that matter most to you.
